MiniCalendar is a light weight calendar program that can be used with minimal effort. Its primary feature is the ability to display any calendar between January, 1582 and December, 29940 A.D. MiniCalendar has the option to highlight the current date either using the system highlight color or the default color red, balloon help is avaliable.
MiniCalendar has been designed to be small and efficient, every effort has been made to ensure that these design goals have been met.
A Tale of two Calendars
The Gregorian Calendar has not always been the calendar of choice. In 1582 A.D. Pope Gregory XIII created the Gregorian Calendar to deal with the inadiquaticys of the Julian Calendar, which did not properly deal with leap years. Both MiniCalendar and the MacOS use the Gregorian Calendar for their internal calculations.
Even though the MacOS can deal with dates between 30081 B.C. and 29940 A.D., MiniCalendar only operates between 1582 A.D. and 29940 A.D. since dates prior to 1582 A.D. are incorrect.
